Outdoor Living

Custom composite and wood decks, covered patios, and pergolas, built by our own carpenters to last through Utah winters, and finished with steel railings we fabricate and powder-coat in our own shop.

Utah County's deck builder

Decks are what we build most, and they are what we are known for. From a simple composite platform to a multi-level deck with a covered section, built-in seating, lighting, and custom steel railings, every one is designed for your lot, framed by our own carpenters, and finished to look like it belongs on the house.

Decks built for Utah weather

A deck in Utah has to survive snow load, freeze-thaw, and a sun that cooks anything left uncovered. We build composite and wood decks with properly sized framing, flashed ledgers, concrete footings below frost depth, and hidden fasteners, then finish them with the details that make a deck look custom: picture-frame borders, diagonal decking, built-in benches, and lighting.

We also build covered patios, pergolas, and outdoor kitchens, and we repair and rebuild decks that were built wrong the first time.

Steel railings, fabricated in-house

Most deck builders order railings from a catalog. We fabricate custom steel stair and balcony railings in our own shop and powder-coat them, so you get a railing that fits your deck exactly and doesn't rust. Cable rail, flat bar, and custom profiles are all on the table.

Deck repair and rebuilds

Not every deck needs to come down. We repair rotted framing, replace decking and stairs, swap out dated wood railings for steel, and rebuild decks that were built wrong the first time. If it is beyond saving, we will tell you that too.

Questions

Decks FAQ

Do I need a permit to build a deck in Utah County?

Most cities require a permit for decks over a certain height or size, and attached decks almost always. We pull the permit and schedule inspections.

Composite or wood?

Composite costs more up front and almost nothing to maintain; wood costs less and needs staining every couple of years. We build both and will walk you through the trade-offs for your budget and your lot.

Can you replace just the railing on my existing deck?

Yes. Custom steel railings fabricated in-house are one of our specialties, and swapping a dated wood railing for steel changes the whole look of a deck.

When is the best time to build a deck in Utah?

Spring through fall is the busy season, and the calendar fills up. Getting a quote in winter or early spring gets you on the schedule before the rush.

Do you build decks in Draper, Lehi, and Saratoga Springs?

Yes, all of Utah County and the south end of Salt Lake County.
